Bushwick Campus SSC

The Student Success Center has finally opened. Achieving this goal has been a long and frustrating journey. A large part of this is also due to the work of the center’s student leaders. The Youth Leaders are peer mediators who help students from the campus with college information and getting them interested in college. The youth leaders attend the schools on Bushwick Campus; there are two students representatives from each school of the four year schools, AUP, BSSJ, Harbor School, and one from AEL. We have done presentations for both the principals and the student bodies of these schools. The center, the student leaders and four staff members are here to provide a place where students can come to get educational and social support. We have four key aspects of our center that include college preparation, peer mediation, financial aid support, and a mentor program for at-risk young men. We are excited to be providing workshops on financial aid and college application basics in the classroom, as well as helping students at the Student Success Center. Please feel free to stop by any time from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Monday to Friday.
